Acne Treatment

Acne is a common skin condition that results in blockage of hair follicles and sebaceous glands (oil-producing glands under the skin), causing pimples.

If the body produces too much sebum (the oil that keeps our skin moisturized), dead skin cells can get stuck inside the pores and cause white or blackheads. Bacteria living on the skin also get stuck in the pore, causing inflamed acne to appear. It usually occurs on the face, forehead, chest, upper back and shoulders. Although acne affects people of all ages, it is most common among young people.

Acne is a skin disease that is seen in 85 percent of young people during adolescence, but can also be seen in people in their 30s, 40s and older ages. A typical pimple is in the form of small red blisters with yellow or non-inflamed ends, black dots called open comedones, small white blisters called closed comedones, and sometimes larger cyst-like structures.

Acne is a treatable condition; However, not all acne is treated the same way. Therefore, it is most appropriate for acne treatment to be planned and monitored by specialist physicians. The type and duration of treatment are determined by the severity and prevalence of acne and the age of the person, taking into account the person's general health condition. Treatment of acne does not end in a short period of 1-2 weeks; It should be accepted from the beginning that it will be long-lasting.
